　　在报馆任职的骠叔（董骠 饰）由于工作的关系带着百口到加拿大工作。一家五口都满身心投入新情况新生活中，骠叔却因获咎下属被解雇了。由于大女儿、二女儿（李丽珍 饰）已起头了学业，他惟有带着妻子骠婶（沈殿霞 饰）与最小的女儿回到香港继续生活，生活却比之前更艰难了。骠婶无意中发现了一张加拿大的头奖彩票，奖金是两万万加币。
　　
　　由于不够钱到加国，骠叔硬着头皮向旧下属借。一样遭到经济危机的下属想法要夺取骠叔的彩票。骠叔一家顽强匹敌，保住了彩票，却没法在领奖时限停止前赶到。
　　
　　一家人悲伤流泪，哀痛当中发现时候上出现了时差，领奖的时候还没停止。
