　　差人唐（格伦·福特 Glenn Ford 饰）爱上了风情万种的卡门（丽塔·海华斯 Rita Hayworth 饰），以后，卡门由于挑衅惹事而遭到了拘系，唐放走了她。一样也在热烈的追求卡门的，还有唐的下属楚尼卡，唐是以和楚尼卡之间发生了严重的抵触，唐就此被逐出警队，加入了卡门的地下走私团体，走上了犯罪的门路。
　　
　　唐的前女友米卡埃拉不忍心看到唐就这样误入邪路，因而前往劝说，与此同时，斗牛士埃斯卡米里奥也深深的爱上了卡门，唐和埃斯卡米里奥决议以决战的方式来决议谁将具有卡门。但是，卡门心中真正渴望的并不是汉子，而是自在，当卡门拒绝了唐的求爱后，唐在愤慨当中杀死了卡门。
