◎幕后揭秘
　　典范童话变身惊悚行动片
　　格林童话里的一个典范故事，被停止了一个“现代化”的包装，转而酿成了一个布满了爆米花味道的现代的行动片，很难说这是好还是坏，可是它绝对是合适市场需要的，也是合适影迷们审美的。而在这类改编的背后，则是电影工作者的设想力以及履行力。作为影片的编剧，托米·维尔科拉在故事的环节上起着关键性的感化。这个来自挪威的编剧兼导演说：“全部故事的基调来自于我童年时辰的记忆，我那时听到这个故事的时辰，就感觉故事很可骇，而且急切地想晓得这两小我以后又发生了什么工作。随着年龄的越来越大，我愈发地大白，这个故事的走向。由于有过这类童年创伤的孩子，长大以后必定是会酿成复仇者的。”托米·维尔科拉不可是一个编剧，更是一个导演，他在挪威已经就拍摄了一部叫做《灭亡之雪》的僵尸笑剧片。而在《女巫猎人》这部电影中，他重新拾起了可骇、惊悚的拍摄手法，而且还在其中加入了行动戏的元素。
　　在托米·维尔科拉的心中，这部电影是对典范童话故事的续写，更是一个崭新的故事。由于原版童话里并没有任何线索表白韩赛尔与格蕾特后来发生了什么，所以怎样编剧，就是维尔科拉的“一家之言”了。维尔科拉说：“我不但要续写这个故事，更想把我所酷爱的电影的元素给放进去：惊悚、行动以及笑剧等等。在续写这个童话的进程中，我发现，这个故事很轻易就能被改编成各类百般的范例片，这其中有女巫、有女巫猎人还有诡计论、灵异事务等等。不外，在我的故事中，我还是侧重在了行动戏和惊悚这两个元素上，笑剧只是元素之一，而不是这部电影的特点。加上对韩赛尔与格蕾特这对兄妹的感情的描写，我感觉这部电影已经充足饱满了。”
　　两位人气演员的同伴
　　要把韩赛尔与格蕾特搬到大银幕上，并让观众发生欣赏的愿望，维尔科拉晓得必必要找到两位有人气的演员。因而，在制片公司的帮扶下，杰瑞米·雷纳走进了维尔科拉的视野。很快，看完剧本的杰瑞米·雷纳就加入了剧组。雷纳说：“我看完剧本的第一个动机就是，天哪，这么一个簿本居然没有开拍。这个故事是在是太牛了，而且其中的各种魔幻的元素也很是时兴。这些还不是重点，全部剧本里最大的重点就是这样一种兄妹情－－维尔科拉为这类感情的表达留下了大量的空间，这为这部电影在感情戏上做足了文章。”而女演员的挑选则没有这么顺遂了，在接连试镜了好几位一线女星以后，维尔科拉才敲定了已经出演过《007：大破量子危机》的英伦女星杰玛·阿特登。阿特登说：“这个故事我从小就听过了很多遍，而现在这个‘续集’简直也很让我沉迷。这个故事里有很多元素，那些中世纪的巫术、妖术混搭现代兵器的感受，也很使人欣喜。而且，故事中总有一种使人严重的氛围，我感觉这会是一部好电影，所以就来到了这个剧组。”
　　对于自己的演员，维尔科拉很满足，由于这两个演员的组合，足以感动很多影迷了。他说：“实在，这部电影最大的关键点就在演员身上，只要找对了演员，这部电影就算成功了一半。这几年由于出演行动片而广为人知的雷纳为了这部电影还是做了很多的练习；而杰玛·阿特登也是一样，他们都为了片中的行动排场做了很多的练习。由于片中还有很多镜头不能用CG建造，而需要演员亲身上场表演，这些镜头有的比力危险，大大都都很使人劳顿。而且我们还有NG。不外，这两个配角并没有是以而埋怨什么，能找到这么一个组合，我是很荣幸的。”
