◎简　　介　

　　居住在镰仓的大学教授曾宫周吉（笠志众 饰）晚年丧偶，他与女儿纪子（原节子 饰）相依为命。纪子从小担当起家庭的重任，悉心照顾父亲的生活起居。转眼间，纪子已二十七岁，照旧待字闺中。纪子的姑姑（杉村春子 饰）和朋友（月丘梦路 饰）都很关心她的亲事，但是她却由于对父亲的迷恋，不愿谈婚论嫁。
　　未几姑姑为周吉先容一位单身女子三轮秋子（三宅邦子 饰），周吉怅然赞成。得知此事的纪子心中感应无穷的怅然……
