　　故事在美国旧金山，心脏科医生乔治从父亲继续到一家医院，并与得了气喘病的苏珊成婚了。由于妻子一向得病，夫妻间关系冷淡，而乔治也在外头与女摄影师珍偷情。一日，他的妻子苏珊古怪灭亡，乔治深感罪行与后悔以后，他便与珍分手了。但更多古怪的工作持续不断的发生，有人致电乔治告诉他有一位脱衣舞娘莫妮卡长得与其亡妻极为类似，而未几乔治被控谋杀亡妻苏珊，缘由是苏珊的药物被变更以致灭亡以及保险受益人是乔治。当乔治死力的证实他的无罪时，真相居然是……
