　　片岡義男の短編小説『スローなブギにしてくれ』『ひどい雨が降ってきた』『俺を起こして、さよならと言った』をもとに、70年月青春映画の鬼才、藤田敏八監督が映画化したのが本作だ。
　　
　　野良猫のような少女、さち乃（浅野温子）。ひょんなことから彼女を拾うことになる青年、ゴロー（古尾谷雅人）。そして白いムスタングを駆る、中年男（山崎努）。この3人を軸に、さまざまなエピソードがスケッチのように羅列されていく。原本は浅野温子初主演の青春ものとして企画されたのだが、藤田監督の焦点は、若者2人よりも中年男の方へと向けられた。結果、いまだ青春に決別できない者のいらだちや空しさが、ひしひしと伝わる異色作に仕上がっている。主題歌は南佳孝。（的田也寸志）
