　　一座由城堡改建而来的军事牢狱中迎来了一位重量级监犯——陆军将军埃尔文（罗伯特·雷德福 Robert Redford 饰），牢狱长温特（James Gandolfini 饰）笑脸驱逐，但很快起头厌恶对方身上的甲士傲骨。埃尔文在牢狱入耳闻诸多温特的劣迹，但抱着安心服刑的心态让他并未多事，很快，温特褫夺甲士庄严的赏罚激愤了埃尔文，埃尔文起头用自己的方式令众监犯找回庄严，并顺理成章成为监犯的魁首，感应自己遭到威胁的温特愈发不成理喻，命令射杀一位监犯致使双方冲突升级。
　　
　　埃尔文决议构造实施牢狱暴乱，以使下级部分介入对温特的观察。这些昔日的甲士、现在的监犯们抱侧重新回到疆场的憬悟，在高度构造和奥秘的情况下完成了作战的预备，一次两重特务的使命成功以后，监犯军团吹响了夺取牢狱的军号！
