　　在电视播音员被视为威望的昔日年月里，朗?伯甘蒂（威尔?法瑞尔 Will Ferrell 饰）是频频获奖的圣迭戈王牌播音员，4频道在他的消息小组的率领下笑傲同业，组内的三个怪家伙只要在朗的身旁才能大展拳脚。工作之外，风骚成性的朗自然也不会放弃操纵著名度勾女，但是一个让他吃瘪的女郎维罗妮卡（克里斯蒂娜?艾伯盖特 Christina Applegate 饰）居然还是消息部的新同事，众人前后对维罗妮卡展开攻势成果三军淹没，最初朗用狂野的风采征服了冰美人，维罗妮卡与朗的期望分歧，这个有激烈奇迹心的女人起头在工作中崭露头角并应战朗的职位，一次车祸后，朗的生活敏捷变得紊乱起来……
