简　　介  

　　维也纳盛大的皇家婚礼以后，茜茜（罗密·施奈德 Romy Schneider 饰）起头皇后的生活。她渐渐地调剂自己以顺应奥天时宫庭生活，但她发现与皇太后苏菲（玛达·施耐德 Magda Schneider 饰）相处很是艰难。跋扈的皇太后固守着皇室的成规成规，并不竭地向弗兰兹（卡尔亨兹·伯恩 Karlheinz B?hm 饰）灌输应当怎样遵照皇室律例去经营帝国和家庭。茜茜的女儿诞生以后，她和苏菲之间的冲突进一步激化。苏菲根据皇室的规矩不让茜茜自己抚养女儿，而弗兰兹居然驯服母意，让茜茜与女儿没法在一路。悲伤失望的茜茜单身一人回到巴伐利亚。惭愧弗兰兹立即跟随而至，劝服茜茜和他一路返回奥天时。这时，苏菲也不能不改变主张赞成茜茜抚养女儿。以后，茜茜陪伴弗兰兹出访多国，在匈牙利她遭到了热烈的接待，他们在匈牙利群众的喝彩声中加冕为奥匈帝国的国王和皇后。
