　　《甜蜜国家》发生在1929年澳洲北领地爱丽斯泉的本地区。原居民纯熟畜牧员Sam 的仆人，是从第一次天下大战退役返来的白人老兵Harry。 Harry性情暴戾，凌虐劳工，终极被Sam在侵占情况下一枪毙命。尔后Sam与怀着身孕的妻子便展开流亡之旅，走遍本地，穿越绚丽沙漠，应用森林保存本事奇妙地避开尾随追捕的法律职员。但Sam为了妻子健康着想，最初还是自首接管审判。在一个白人至上的社会里，所谓的审判又能否彰显公义？
