　　2004年2月，青年导演让·古南的《布鲁贝里Blueberry》真正地起头了“法国式西部片”的摸索。该片也许是?0年法国拍摄的最典型的西部片，按照50年月起头的同名连载漫画改编。让·古南带着剧组几近走遍了墨西哥全境拔取最合适的外景，秀丽的风光和一望无边的沙漠，峻峭的山崖和涓涓流水，诡异莫测的西部小镇和妖艳多姿的妓女，蜥蜴、蟒蛇微风沙下渐渐显现的白骨，《布鲁贝里》显现出一个魔幻、鬼魅和苍茫的西部，涂抹上了超自然主义色彩。一个复仇故事，一本奇书和一场探险，在这里变得如梦幻天下，比如法国人做了多年的西部梦。最初的终局没有美国西部片中严重的生死对决，没有罪行与正义的殊死较劲，反而导演用了10多分钟的视觉殊效来展现豪杰与魔鬼在灵魂深处的意念博斗，观众完全沉醉在苍茫奇异的悬想天下。
