　　法国电影导演。先锋派电影的代表人物之一。1897年 3月25日生于华沙，1953年卒于巴黎。爱浦斯坦原是散文作家和哲学家，曾在L.德吕克主办的电影杂志上颁发文章热情称赞“第七艺术”。1922年，他初次执导了《巴斯德传》。次年，执导了按照巴尔扎克小说改编的《红色酒店》以及《忠厚的心》。这些影片在蒙太奇手法的利用上非常出色，获得了庞大成功。爱浦斯坦成为先锋期间印象主义学派的重要人物。尔后爱浦斯坦起头拍摄了一些贸易影片。可是他从未完全抛弃对电影艺术的摸索：1927年他导演了《┩$×11》、 《三面镜》，次年导演了《于谢家的衰败》，其中仍使人感遭到先锋派气概。

　　

　　  爱浦斯坦尔后转向记载片，他试图表示实在生活中的异景壮景。1929年执导了《最初的地盘》，次年执导了《乌鸦海》。1948年，他完成了最初一部短片《海之火》。
