◎简　　介

　　严酷的军校练习，能否能培养一位能上越南疆场的斗士？杰夫奈特（迈克尔·杜迪考夫 饰）是一位刚从西点军校结业的年轻中尉，被派往越南一个小型军事基地驻守，基地中的别的兵士都是身经百战的沙场宿将，年轻的杰夫经常是他们讽刺的工具。还好，在主座麦纳玛拉（罗伯特·F·莱昂斯 饰）的指导下，他逐步抓到窍门，并有才能率领兵士们在森林中作例行的巡查。一日，他得知越共预备进犯他们的基地与四周的村子，因而，杰夫决议在仇敌未行动前先发制人。没想到，由于通讯器械故障，使得他们的攻击失利。身处越南森林的杰夫，能否能发挥斗士精神，冲破重围、满身而退呢？
