　　蕾姬·艾伦（卡洛·朗白 饰）是一个美容院的修甲师，她从不相信恋爱，以嫁给有钱报酬自己的人生方针。艾伦·麦克林（拉尔夫·贝拉米 饰）是一个双腿残疾的富翁，他对蕾姬怀有好感，并告诉蕾姬，终究一天她会改变以钱为重的想法，与自己的真命天子坠入爱河。某天，蕾姬分开麦克林师长家时，偶然撞上了一个叫西奥多雷·德鲁（弗莱德·麦克莫瑞 饰）的青年，她以为对方只是个幼稚的乡巴佬，不意终极却发现他是个身价不菲的富二代，更让她欣喜的是，对方居然约请她一路共进晚饭。蕾姬与德鲁度过欢畅的一夜后，以为自己终究可以实现嫁给有钱人的胡想，却不幸得知对方很快就要成婚了，更让她出乎料想的是，早晨喝了太多酒的德鲁醉得昏迷不醒，蕾姬不能不把他搬到自己家中留宿，谁知对方居然就这么赖了下来。
