　　【月球飛行員】是根據 Robert Buckner 的小說《Starfire》改編，劇情則是敘述有一位原本是空軍一號飛官的 Richard Talbot ，卻意外成為搭乘太空船環遊月球軌道的志願嘗試者，在那個年月人類底子還沒登上月球，在此之前只要猩猩曾經成功航繞月球軌道過。這位 Richard Talbot 於是展開了他的旅程，在 Vanneman 將軍所領導的各方平安單位重重的戒備之下，沒想到有一個奥秘的女子居然還是冲破了平安防護，间接與月球飛行員 Richard 接觸，這位名叫 Lyrae 的奥秘女子成分引人疑竇，生怕是一位敵方派來的間諜，可是飛行員 Richard 在和她接觸過後，卻認為這名女子並無惡意，是來幫助他將這次任務從快要失敗的邊緣扭轉頹勢的，而她究竟是從哪裡來的呢？這生怕會是一個超自然、奥秘的答案。
　　
　　本片是由 James Neilson 所執導，在本片中飾演男配角 Richard Talbot 的是 Tom Tryon ，飾演 Vanneman 將軍的則是 Brian Keith ，他還演過迪士尼許多經典名片，包括【小紅娘】、【十勇士】、【雁南飛】…等等。至於飾演奥秘女子 Lyrae 的則是 Dany Saval ，其他表演的演員還包括有 Edmond O'Brien 、Bob Sweeney 、Tommy Kirk 、Kent Smith …等等。至於擔任本片配樂的則是 Paul J. Smith ，片中的歌曲則是由 Richard M. Sherman 以及 Robert B. Sherman 兄弟所配合創作。
